Schiaparelli Couture SS23

too far?

Kylie Jenner was seated one seat away from a Swarovski Doja Cat at the Schiaparelli Haute Couture show. Kylie Jenner wore black gown that showcased a very realistic lion’s head. The designer Daniel Roseberry showcased his unique designs on the New York floor.

Icon supermodels such as Naomi Campbell, and Shalom Harlow participated in looks 10 and 15 which included a tiger and dogs head. These looks have woken a stir among crowds, several pieces that were just astonishing.

Schiaparelli took Instagram writing “ NO ANIMALS WERE HARMED IN MAKING THIS LOOK”. This as a caption was defending the backlash from people who told that Schiaparelli was glorifying animal hunting.

Did Roseberry simply take it to far? Once showcased onto social media, the collection simply gave the looks a taxidermy design. Even PETA took to the internet and had something to say. The charity’s president Ingrid Newkirk says “[the look] celebrates lions’ beauty and may be a statement against trophy hunting, in which lion families are torn apart to satisfy human egotism… These fabulously innovative three-dimensional animal heads show that where there’s a will, there’s a way.”. What do you think? Was it too much?
